Every service is tailored to your dog’s individual needs, using gentle handling, natural products, and a holistic approach to care.

The Foundations

Give your puppy the best start in their grooming journey.
The Foundations is a gentle, step-by-step package designed to build confidence, trust, and positive associations with grooming from day one. By introducing the sights, sounds, and sensations of the salon gradually with patience, praise, and lots of care, your puppy will grow into a dog who feels safe and settled every time they visit. Each session builds on the last, always at your puppy’s pace.

Session 1 — Meet & Greet
You and your puppy join me in the salon for a relaxed introduction. Your puppy can explore the sights, smells, and sounds while feeling safe by your side. We’ll do some light brushing on the table and I’ll answer any questions you may have about coat care and what to expect from grooming.

Session 2 — Bath & Dry
A gentle bath in the hydrobath followed by a slow introduction to the sensation and sound of the dryer. We’ll also continue table training, helping your puppy feel comfortable and relaxed during handling.

Session 3 — Bath, Dry & Tidy
Building on Session 2, your puppy will experience a bath, dry, and a gentle tidy. This includes trimming around the sanitary area, paws, and eyes, while also introducing the sound and feel of the clippers.

Session 4 — First Full Groom
Your puppy is now ready for their first full groom. This includes a bath, dry, coat tidy or trim, and all the elements of a regular groom — completed calmly, with plenty of breaks and reassurance.

💡 Sessions are usually spread over 2–3 weeks, but can be adjusted if needed. Once the program is complete, we can set your puppy on a regular grooming schedule to maintain both their coat and their confidence.

The Rebalance Ritual

A holistic, full-body groom that nurtures your dog’s coat, skin, and emotional wellbeing.

This is more than just a haircut, it’s a carefully considered grooming experience designed around your dog as an individual. Every element is carried out with intention and care, balancing coat maintenance with emotional safety.

The session includes a warm bath, blow dry, and full coat styling or clip tailored to your dog’s lifestyle, comfort and wellbeing.

Each full body groom includes:

Double shampoo & Conditioner using natural, coat-specific products
Ears gently cleaned with either Otoact or Otodine, depending on your dog’s needs; both are trusted, vet-recommended products
Hygiene Trimming - Gentle trimming around sensitive areas including the sanitary region, underbelly, and rear to help keep your dog clean, comfortable, and free from matting. This not only maintains hygiene but also supports healthy skin and coat.
Paw Tidying & Nail Care. We carefully trim and tidy the fur around your dog’s paws and clip their nails to maintain comfort, prevent overgrowth, and reduce the risk of injury. Keeping paws clean and nails at a healthy length supports overall mobility and wellbeing, while leaving your dog looking neat and cared for.

We work at your dog’s pace, with rest breaks and reassurance built in as standard. Whether your dog needs a practical pet trim or something more styled, this ritual ensures they leave looking fresh and comfortable, while feeling safe, calm, and supported.

The Revive Ritual

A holistic coat and skin maintenance session to support comfort, health, and wellbeing.

This session is more than “just a bath”, it’s a gentle, therapeutic reset for dogs who need a refresh while prioritising their comfort and emotional wellbeing. Using natural, skin-supportive shampoos, we carefully cleanse and condition the coat to promote healthy skin and a shiny, manageable coat.

The session includes a full blow dry, thorough brush-out, and a coat and skin health check. Light tidying around the feet or hygiene areas can also be included if needed. These sessions are ideal for dogs with longer coats that need that little extra TLC in between grooms.

Every step is carried out at your dog’s pace, with rest breaks and reassurance, ensuring a calm, positive experience.

Specialist Coat Care

For dogs with unique coat needs or those requiring extra attention, our Specialist Coat Care offers tailored, expert treatments to support coat health, texture, and comfort.

Hand-Stripping – Ideal for wiry or silky-coated breeds, hand-stripping removes dead hair while maintaining the coat’s natural texture and encouraging healthy regrowth. This specialist technique is done with patience and precision, supporting both the appearance and wellbeing of your dog’s coat.

Matting & Coat Rescue – Life can get busy, and sometimes at-home care doesn’t fully prevent mats forming. At Dames and Dukes, we prioritise your dogs comfort and safety: we do not spend excessive time de-matting, as this can be stressful and painful. The most humane solution is to shave beneath matting when necessary. Any removal will always be discussed with you beforehand, ensuring you’re informed and comfortable with the approach.

Breed-Specific & Advanced Techniques – Certain breeds or coat types require specialised handling, styling, or trimming methods. This can include tailored scissoring, breed-standard finishes, texture work, or techniques to maintain coat health unique to the breed. Each treatment is designed to preserve the coat’s natural qualities while keeping your dog comfortable and stress-free.

Most of these specialist treatments can be included alongside The Rebalance Ritual, creating a comprehensive grooming experience that addresses coat, skin, and wellbeing in one session.

The Smile Care Ritual

A gentle, ultrasonic tooth-brushing treatment designed to support oral health and fresh breath. Unlike traditional methods, this uses silent, vibration-free technology to break down plaque and kill the bacteria that cause gum disease, tartar build-up, and bad breath; all without stress or discomfort.

Regular sessions help to prevent dental problems before they start, freshen breath, and support overall wellbeing, since a healthy mouth is key to a healthy body.

Suitable for dogs of all ages, especially those who dislike traditional brushing.
